The London Eye Experience |
 |
When I was a tourist I went on the London Eye, of course, but since then… years have passed and the experience seems to be a distant memory. For a few years now I have been living in London and yet, I have never returned to the London Eye. As fascinating as the idea seemed to me, the fact that I was no longer a tourist struck me as the main reason for not going. I took numerous pictures of it from different viewpoints in different weathers. But one day I decided to go for it! I was really excited… I had to wait in the queue for two hours

and I thought that the minute when I am going to enter the cabin will never come. But of course it did… I took many wonderful pictures from the London Eye and even bought one of me standing there looking like a pro J. A bit about The London Eye. It was designed by Marks Barfield Architects and completed in 2000: it was inaugurated by the PM Tony Blair on 31st December 1999 and opened for use in March 2000. It was previously owned by the Marks Barfield family and British Airways, but it was bought out by the Tussauds Group in 2006. On the website you can get extra 10% off as well as buy different offers like a champagne reception or joint tickets for the Tussauds Museum and the London Eye at a special price, check it out www.londoneye.com I went during the day, but I think I will try going again in the evening to get that pink hue in the background on my photographs ;) What were your experiences of the London Eye like? I must also mention that the London Eye is the main focus point during the New Year celebrations as it is where all the fireworks take place. Thousands of people gather on the other side of the river and wait for the Big Ben to strike the ultimate ticktock and see the beautiful displays that are put on yearly. Some Englishmen who live nearby climb onto their roofs and enjoy the view from there… As for the rest for the country – they are able to enjoy the full transmission on TV. So if you are ever here for the celebration – this is not something you are going to miss easily!
